About Neuland pens and crayons

It is not a secret that we are very fond of using pens from the German brand Neuland. They have a variety of clear colours, they fit ergonomically well in the hand, and they are economical to use in the long run. We find it amazing what you can accomplish with a small starters set. We recommend the following as starters set:

  • Neuland BigOne® Outliner (wedge nib) - Item no.8042.0010
  • Neuland No.One® Outliner (Wedge nib) - Item no.8047.0010
  • Neuland BigOne®, wedge nib 6-12mm - (102) light gray - Item no.8042.0102
  • RefillOne Ink, Outliner, permanent - Item no.8044.0010
  • Neuland Ink RefillOne (102) light gray - Item no.8044.0102
  • Stockmar Wax Crayons - Item no.8066.0049
  • PocketOne - Item no.8203.0005

You can add a pencil and an eraser to this list.

Later, when you have used your pens for a while – maybe half a year or so, depending on how often and how much you use your pens – you will need to replace the nibs of your pens. It is usually when you begin to run out of ink anyway and must reorder. At that point in time, you also need to buy the following parts:

  • Replacement Wedge Nibs, 6-12 mm – for Neuland BigOne - Item no.8042.0001
  • Replacement Wedge Nibs, 2-6 mm – for Neuland No.One - Item no.8047.0001

It is not uncommon that you can use the same pens for years or even decades. We normally only buy new pens when we have lost them somewhere. You can buy the pens at neuland.com or any of the local retailers referred to from that site.

For graphical facilitation in a virtual environment, you can simply use a tablet computer with a pen, as we also do for the examples in this training. An app of course needs to be installed on the tablet to do so. It could for example be the Miro app or any drawing app for the tablet. We like using an iPad with an Apple Pen and the Miro app or the Paper app from WeTransfer and cast the screen to a MacBook using AirServer.
