Agile Leadership – The Vital Role of Sense-making, Integrity, and Authenticy

When organisations implement new work processes, such as Scrum or other Agile frameworks, the focus often falls on tools, processes, and structures. These are undoubtedly important, but one critical factor is frequently overlooked: organisational culture.

This webinar is designed for leaders, managers, and coaches interested in enhancing their leadership skills to navigate complexity and drive successful transformations within their organisations. It is particularly relevant for individuals seeking insights into the evolving demands of leadership in today’s dynamic and challenging business environment.

Recorded: May 23, 2025

Key Takeaways

Drawing from Karl E. Weick’s sense-making theory and contemporary leadership research, this session offers insights into:

  • Sense-making: Understanding and influencing organisational dynamics through effective communication and role modelling.

  • Integrity: Building trust by aligning actions with personal values and organisational goals.

  • Presence: Fostering connection and engagement through genuine interest and small talk.

  • Humble Inquiry: Lowering the power distance by showing genuine curiosity, having a practice of asking instead of telling, and slowing down in your interactions with your employees.

  • Authenticity: Cultivating a personal leadership style that resonates with your team and drives success.

Why This Matters

Human beings will always do what makes sense to them, and they usually act with the best intentions. For leaders to understand why people do what they do – even when it looks counterproductive – and to understand how their own behaviour is influencing the organisational dynamics is key to succeeding as a leader.
